Now that we’re mid-way through winter, Broadway Lights is busier than ever! At any given hour, on any given week night, or Saturday, the studio rooms at our Linwell Road location are filled with music and dancers of all ages.
Before the Christmas break we had two shows at the studio with all classes performing newly-learned numbers. It was standing room only at both shows and the kids put on a heck of a performance that won rounds of applause from the audience. Lots of camera flashbulbs kept both the dancers and shows sparkling, but nothing could compare to the smiles on the their faces as they enjoyed the (for some their first) performance.
Now, with March break approaching, our classes are practicing dance numbers and learning new choreography, as well as polishing technique for the year-end shows in late May. (Tickets on sale at the studio following March break.)
You might have already seen (and heard) that our new sewing room is humming these days with the sounds of sewing machines, sergers, and scissor cutting, as the costumes are completed for the year-end shows and competitions. Your dancer will occasionally be asked to try on their new costumes in the sewing room to make sure they fit perfectly.
Competition season for our competitive dancers is just around the corner and all the entries are being fine-tuned in preparation for the 2008 events in Canada and the United States. If you haven’t yet seen the Broadway Lights Competitive Dance Team, or as its officially titled, The Competitive Dance Kids of Niagara (CDKN), in action, we invite you to come and watch your studio’s team perform at the upcoming competitions. The locations and dates will be posted on the main bulletin board near the front desk. We look forward to seeing you there.
Our new studio has come a long way in the past few months and adjusting to the growth and expansion has been exciting. With all the large renovations completed last summer, the studio is being tweaked and fine-tuned on a continual basis to meet our ongoing development and to provide our dance families with the best dance studio in the Niagara Region. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact either Bev or Sharon. The staff at Broadway Lights strives to make your family’s experience with our studio memorable.
